Happy birthday, Anastacia!

"I’ve heard a lot of wonderful stories about my life’s career’s songs that have really helped people move past things: get past a death, get past a love relationship, get past a transition workwise, get past a health issue. There are many things that I think that’s what music is there for - it is to bring you through troubled times. And music becomes a therapy in itself. It’s nice to know that in what I do for a living I’ve made a difference in people’s lives, to have them come up to me with smiles on their faces saying: Your song helped me at a time when I didn’t think I had a chance.”

What makes life valuable is that it doesn’t last forever, what makes it precious is that it ends. […] So don’t waste it living someone else’s life, make yours count for something. Fight for what matters to you, no matter what. Because even if you fall short, what better way is there to live?

Hi, I know that you study in UK, could you tell me more about applying process and other stuff? I'd be really grateful!

Hey! So, I get this a lot so I thought I would publish it. I hope it’s okay.

I don’t know how it works in other countries, but on mine we apply for Uni right before we finish high school. Basically, we may only know where we are going to study a few weeks before the first day of Uni. In my opinion, it’s a mess. However, in the UK, applications run from Mid/Late September of the year before meaning that if you want to start Uni next year in the UK, you should start working on all the things you need for the application right now, because it’s quite a lot of stuff. The sooner the better. (You can, however, apply till June)

All applications go through UCAS. It’s a good website with all the information you need to know, so no need for me to explain very precisely. Apart from finishing High School, what you’ll need is: a personal statement, a recommendation letter from one of your teachers, and, in some cases, a portfolio. The first thing to think about tho, is what course you want to study and in which university. You are given 5 university choices.

If you’re coming from abroad, you’ll need to do an English test. The most common is IELTS. I don’t know about other countries, but on mine, a lot of people do it so you have to schedule a date a few months prior.

In Portugal, we have this organization who takes care of students who want to study in the UK. We obviously need to pay a fee for their services, but they help you throughout the whole process. Maybe there’s a similar one in your country.

There’s a lot more stuff to worry about apart from applying to Uni, like accommodation, what to do once you get here, etc etc etc. But that’s a topic for another time, if anyone’s interested. :)

"You’re right. I never went in. I was afraid. You said I could let go of the anger that was weighing me down, and suddenly it felt like without it I would just…float away. That anger was all I had. What would I be without it?

"You're not a villain, You're my mom."

Fan: How “delicious” it’s been for you playing different sides of Regina?

LP: I love Regina’s arc. She started with this void in her heart - badass Evil Queen - realising her potential to love someone. This someone.
